Welcome to Sing Up's Song Bank

Sing Up's Song Bank is a flexible, diverse singing resource designed for all of you working with primary children, whether or not you are a music specialist - songs with cross-curricular links, songs from different cultures, songs for different year groups and teaching abilities, and of course songs for special times of the year.

SEARCH THE SONG BANK FROM A TO Z!

We are making it easier for you to search for songs, starting with a new A-Z directory, where you can browse the Song Bank – now holding over 100 songs and growing every week.  Where a song has the performance track available, you can click on the audio icon next to the listing for the song and hear the song without leaving the A-Z browsing area.  We hope this will help you choose the songs you wish to explore further.  Remember: the performance tracks have been prepared as an additional tool, to help you in your selection and to learn the song's melody and words.  For this reason, the talented young singers on these tracks have all concentrated on clarity of words and pitch. The tracks are simply a starting point: we hope you will gain the confidence to make the songs your own!

For those of you searching for a song that matches your particular lesson requirements, look out for a new Advanced Search area, coming soon, where you can find songs by putting in specific criteria such as Key Stage, year group, song style and cross-urricular links.

Once you click through to a song’s page, you’ll find lyrics, song sheets, activities (look for the new ‘printer-friendly’ activities sheet) and audio clips. If you decide to save a song to use later with your class or group, follow the instructions on the audio clips page to download the available tracks to your Favourites. You will then be able to access the tracks offline or burn a CD to use in your lessons. You must log in to take advantage of the audio download function.

The songsheets can be printed but you need to download the Sibelius Scorch software. Once you have installed the free Scorch plugin (see ‘What do I need to get started?’ for help), you can view a full arrangement of a song, listen to a midi version and even transpose the song into a different key if you wish. Once you have made any changes you require, you can print a copy. You must be logged in to change and print Scorch files.

Each song is a 'singing experience' in itself, presenting a range of teaching materials with some or all of the following:

• Lyrics/context of the song (including information about the songwriter where relevant)
• Audio tracks
• Printable/interactive songsheets
• Activities/lesson plans

In addition, you can create your own library of favourite songs which you can share with your school, save to your computer or burn to CD.

To help you on your way we have created an easy to use Song Bank Guide:
